(1) There is a frictional sound from the disc brake even when the front or rear brakes are not applied.
First, check if the wheels are properly installed. Lift the front and rear wheels off the ground and rotate them. Then, inspect the brake disc for any deformation. If the brake disc is deformed, replace it. If it is not deformed, adjust the brake caliper according to the following steps.
Adjust the brake caliper by loosening the 2 screws on it. Then make sure the brake disc is in the middle of the brake caliper. Remember to tighten the screws after adjustment.
(2) There is a harsh noise when you are braking.
Brake noise is often caused by oil or grime on the brake discs and brake pads. To resolve this, clean their surfaces with alcohol or other degreasing agents.
(3) The brake lever feels very soft and the brakes are ineffective.
First, check the wear of the brake pads inside the caliper. If they are severely worn, replace them. Second, if the hydraulic brake system has been in use for a long time, it may need to be refilled with brake fluid. If the brake pads are not significantly worn, the caliper is likely low on brake fluid, so add more brake fluid.
